Please note that the city centre of Ghent is located within a Low Emission Zone (LEZ). Kindly check www.lez.gent to verify whether your vehicle is allowed to enter the city centre.

If you are travelling by car, we recommend parking in one of the following locations:

- Park in the public underground car park Sint-Michielsparking (€23.50/24h – Sint-Michielsplein 8);
- Or reserve a space in our private car park (€25/night – Watergraafstraat 1) prior to your arrival. To reserve, please send an email to welcome@1898thepost.com. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive all necessary details.

Please be aware that our hotel is located in a pedestrian zone.

Directions to 1898 The Post
✓ Take one of the following motorways towards Ghent:

- E40 (from Luxembourg): follow E40 in the direction of Ghent/Aalst.
- E34 (from the Netherlands): follow E34 towards Antwerp/Ghent.
- E17 (from France): follow E17 in the direction of Lille/Rijsel/Kortrijk.

✓ Exit the motorway after passing Ghent’s football stadium (Ghelamco Arena). Turn right and stay in the right-hand lane to merge onto the E17.
✓ Once on the E17, keep left and follow signs for "Gent Centrum".
✓ Follow "Andere richtingen" ("Other directions") near the bridge.
✓ At the first traffic lights (under the bridge), turn left.
✓ You are now on the Ghent ring road. Continue along Charles de Kerckhovelaan. On your left you will pass the Citadel Park.
✓ After approximately 1 km, you will see a pharmacy and Delhaize supermarket on your left-hand side. Turn right onto Bernard Spaelaan.
✓ Cross the bridge and continue straight into Papegaaistraat.
✓ Follow Annonciadenstraat and Gebroeders Vandeveldestraat.
✓ Before the "no entry" sign, turn left towards Onderbergen.
✓ The entrance to the public parking Sint-Michiels will be on your left-hand side.

✓ If you have reserved a space in our private parking, continue driving and pass St. Michael’s Church on your right.
✓ Turn into the second small street, Watergraafstraat (just after Ingelandgat).
✓ You will now see the entrance to our private car park. Enter your personal access code to open the gate.
